NEIGHBORHOODS
All
of our buildings are located on the north side of Chicago in various
neighborhoods.
DePAUL
The DePaul
area is located from Halsted Street west to Ashland
Avenue, and north from Armitage Avenue to Diversey Street. This
residential neighborhood is home to DePaul University and is just west of
Lincoln Park. Many small
neighborhood bars and boutique shops populate the area. The DePaul
neighborhood offers a great combination of active thoroughfares and quiet
residential, tree-lined streets.
This
neighborhood was originally of Polish and German descent. By the 1960’s
more blue collar workers resided here. Through the 1970’s, 1980’s, and
1990’s, a re-gentrification of the neighborhood began. This change created a wonderful neighborhood in
which to live and work.
LINCOLN
PARK
Lincoln Park is located west of the Lake, east of
Halsted, north of Fullerton and south of Diversey.
The Lincoln Park area is home to, appropriately enough, Lincoln
Park and the Lincoln Park Zoo. This
area has seen an incredible resurgence in the past 40 years. Forty years ago the area was considered a slum.
Today it is home to numerous restaurants, boutiques and
multi-million dollar houses.
LAKEVIEW
Lakeview is just north and west of Lincoln Park. Lakeview is
located between Diversey Street and Irving Park Road, and west from the
lake to Ashland Avenue. Generally, Lakeview is less congested than Lincoln
Park and street parking is a reality! Lakeview is a great neighborhood to
reside in: Wrigley Field, cafes, art boutiques, and various theaters
create a fulfilling cultural experience.
BUCKTOWN
Bucktown is located between North Avenue and Fullerton Avenue, and from
the Kennedy Expressway west to Western Avenue. It is home to the foremost nouvelle
cuisine restaurants, art galleries, gourmet health-food stores, and
night-clubs. Getting around is simple
through the “L” stop at North and Damen, the Kennedy Expressway, or
the Metra at Clybourn Avenue.
ROSCOE
VILLAGE
Roscoe Village is located between Belmont and Addison Avenues
and west from Paulina Street to Western Avenue. In the past this area
catered mostly to working couples and families. Recently there has been an
influx of urban professionals. Roscoe Village features a quaint downtown
area on Roscoe Avenue from Damen to Western Avenue. With the recent loft
rehabs, new construction of single-family homes, and the opening of the
Whole Foods supermarket on Ashland Avenue, Roscoe Village has been
rediscovered.
